Tips for a Successful Year
Encourage your children to use time wisely by planning
ahead. Begin projects as soon as they are assigned.
1. Ask questions when you do not understand. There are probably
others who feel confused as well. They will be grateful that you are brave enough to ask!
2. If you are still confused at the end of class, please see
your teacher.
3. If you know that you are going to be absent, tell your
teacher ahead of time so that she can do her best to get your assignments ready for you.
4. Always
write your homework assignment in your assignment pad.
5. Do your best with homework. Try really hard even when it
is difficult, but do not throw yourself into a frenzy of frustration. Make reasonable judgements about what is a good effort
for you.
6. Keep your notebook organized.
Clean it out after each major test.
7. Get enough sleep and eat a good breakfast. Listen carefully
in class. Always think: I am a 5th grade whiz!
